Things to Do in Dubai- Part 1

Enclosed by the Persian Gulf on one side and the shifting sands of the Arabian Desert lies the beautiful city of Dubai, the largest emirate in the United Arab Emirates. In the last 25 years Dubai has exploded from a small trading port to the biggest commercial hub of the Middle East. This is a city that has spared no expense in building its infrastructure; beautiful skyscrapers that adorn the skyline, a world class metro system links the business districts and malls the size of football stadiums filled with the biggest names in fashion making it a mecca for tax free shopping. I have listed down some of my favourite things to do in Dubai starting with the desert safari.

Desert Safari

Dubai Holiday
Speeding up the sand dunes in 4*4 roll caged SUV's, having a barbecue dinner at a desert camp  with live belly dance performance; whats not tot like! There are a lot of tour operators that have different desert safari packages and the cost will depend on the SUV of your choice and the duration of the safari. There are even packages for overnight stay although I would not recommend it. Most of the tours will pick you up from a the city and a 40 minute ride later you are in the edge of the desert. This is where the fun begins !

Top of the World – Burj Khalifa

A ride up the world’s fastest elevator to the top of the tallest building to watch the world famous fountain show should defiantly be on everyone’s bucket list. I did an exclusive post a while back, you can check it out HERE.

Madinat Jumeirah transports you back to the Arabian Nights, the architecture of the resort draws inspiration from ancient Arabian times. Madinat Jumeirah, which translates to City of Madinat is made up of 2 luxury hotels, 40 restaurants, bars and an Arabian Souk. You can take a ride on a traditional abras a wooden boat along the serene canals and really appreciate the architecture of the place.
