Neon's of Mong Kok, Hong Kong

I have been on a few  business trips to Hong Kong over the last 2 years and I always end up staying around the Yau Ma Tei station area. Every night after work I go for a long walk with my Fuji XE-2 exploring the night markets and surrounding areas.

For the best Neon's check out the busy streets of Mon Kok or walk down to Nathen road
Mon Kok is one of Hong Kong's most congested shopping and residential districts and its a short walk from Yau Ma Teu Station .In Mon Kok the traffic get shut down a few nights a week and the roads get invaded with tourists and shoppers. You also find a lot of interesting street performers entertaining the crowds and hawkers selling knick knacks. If you want to buy gadgets you will get everything under the sun here and at a bargain. I got myself a Fuji 35 mm f1.4 for a steal compared to what I could find on Amazon.

Mong Kok has the highest population density in the world and actually holds the Guiness record to prove it. For photographers this location is golden you and can get some serious street photos , photos of vendors selling on the pavement , street performers in action etc

Burj Khalifa Dubai

Burj Khalifa in Dubai is the tallest man made structure in the face of the earth, standing at 829 meters the view from up there is breathtaking . It took 6 years to build this massive 164 floor building and the main reason behind it was to diversify from the oil based economy of the Gulf and to establish Dubai as a global financial centre.

The burj is truly a architectural marvel and its amazing how much mankind and come from building pyramids from stone to this amazing modern super structure. National Geographic has made a very interesting documentary on building the Burj on its series Mega Strucutures.

The Burj is a must visit for any one holidaying in Dubai. The ticket ques to the viewing deck can get pretty long, I would suggest booking tickets online and its not cheap. The cost of the tickets depends on the time of visit as well , between 10 am to 5 pm its about 125 AED  and 200 AED after 5pm to access the 124th floor. To get to the top most viewing area the cost goes up to 350 for non peak hours and 500 for peak time. Make sure to catch the water fountain show its amazing seeing the dancing fountains from  the top of Burj.
